Director, Software Engineering (GenAI)

Location: Bogota, Colombia; hybrid with at least 3 days in the office

What you will do

• Lead a cross-functional engineering organization responsible for the ADS / Alias platform on GCP.
• Drive GenAI-first practices across software development, testing, troubleshooting, release engineering, and operational workflows.
• Build and evolve scalable, secure, and highly reliable distributed payment systems and cloud-native platform capabilities.
• Own engineering execution across product delivery, production reliability, release readiness, and operational excellence.
• Advance CI/CD, automation, observability, feature flags, and safe production rollouts.
• Partner with Product, Architecture, Security, Compliance, and Operations while developing a high-performing engineering team.

Requirements

• 10+ years of relevant experience with a Bachelor’s degree, or 7+ years with an advanced degree, or 4+ years with a PhD; alternatively, 13+ years of relevant experience.
• 15+ years of relevant engineering experience with expertise in distributed systems, cloud platform engineering, and production operations.
• Strong experience with GCP, cloud-native architectures, Kubernetes, CI/CD pipelines, observability, and infrastructure automation.
• Experience with release discipline, test automation, environment governance, progressive delivery, feature flags, incident management, root cause analysis, and production readiness.
• Experience in payments, fintech, or other highly regulated environments, including security, compliance, and control requirements.
• Advanced Spanish and English; must be based in Bogota, Colombia.
