Описание вакансии
TL;DR
Simulation Engineer (Autonomous Systems): Building and extending simulation tooling for autonomous ground-handling vehicles with an accent on production-stack integration, scenario execution, and reliable evaluation. Focus on designing deterministic test systems, operating GPU-based cloud simulations, and diagnosing complex failures in safety-critical autonomy workflows.
Location: Remote; listed locations include Atlanta, Italy, London, Poland, Toronto, and the United Kingdom.
Company
is a Series A autonomy company developing technology that transforms ground-handling operations for airlines and aviation service providers.
What you will do
- Build and extend simulation environments, including autonomy-stack integration, vehicle and actor models, and operational conditions.
- Maintain simulation fidelity as the production autonomy stack evolves and improve coverage across maps and sites.
- Operate cloud-based scenario execution with orchestration, parallelism, result aggregation, artifact capture, and cost modeling.
- Develop evaluation layers with precise release-gating assertions and stable pass/fail criteria.
- Create failure-triage tools, including failure clustering, recordings, and dashboards for autonomy engineers.
- Extend scenario-authoring tools across backend and frontend systems while maintaining determinism, reproducibility, and pipeline performance.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Robotics, or a related field.
- Strong Python skills and experience maintaining code in a shared codebase.
- Hands-on simulation experience for autonomous systems and familiarity with platforms such as CARLA, Applied Intuition, Foretellix, NVIDIA Omniverse, IsaacSim, Gazebo, or proprietary simulators.
- Knowledge of simulation, modeling, and validation methodology, including interpreting simulated results in relation to real-world behavior.
- Experience with Docker, Linux, distributed systems, GPU-based simulation, CI/CD, and cloud execution.
- Strong debugging, profiling, telemetry-analysis, and failure-mode investigation skills for distributed GPU-bound systems.
Nice to have
- Master’s degree in Computer Science, Robotics, or a related field.
- Experience with safety-critical systems in autonomous driving, aerospace, or robotics, including ISO 26262, ISO 21448, UL4600, or ISO 13849.
- Experience with autonomous vehicle software stacks such as ROS or ROS2.
- Experience with sensor modeling, environment generation, perception ground-truth pipelines, or re-simulation from recorded real-world data.
- Experience improving test-signal quality through flake reduction, determinism debugging, and golden-output comparison.
Culture & Benefits
- Remote work model with engineering work focused on autonomy and aviation operations.
- Opportunity to work on systems used by major airlines and ground-handling providers.
- Work spanning simulation infrastructure, cloud execution, safety validation, and developer tooling.
