Director of AI Engineering (Cybersecurity)

Location: Singapore with at least 3 days in the office each week; exact in-office expectations will be confirmed by the Hiring Manager.

What you will do

• Hire, onboard, and lead a new team of approximately six product, AI, security, and technical engineers.
• Define the team structure, operating model, engineering standards, delivery cadence, and career development practices.
• Act as a hands-on lead engineer and principal architect through system design, prototyping, code review, and production implementation.
• Drive end-to-end delivery of cybersecurity AI agent products, including discovery, MVP development, testing, release, monitoring, and iteration.
• Establish metrics for product quality, model performance, agent reliability, security effectiveness, adoption, and operational impact.
• Collaborate with product, design, sales engineering, customer success, and security stakeholders on customer pilots, deployments, and commercialization.

Requirements

• Advanced degree in Computer Science or a related field.
• 10+ years of experience in AI research, software engineering, security engineering, AI product engineering, solution engineering, or related technical roles.
• 3+ years of experience managing high-performing technical teams and a proven ability to hire, coach, and retain engineering talent.
• Deep hands-on experience with agentic AI, LLM application architecture, planning and reasoning loops, structured memory, context management, retrieval-augmented generation, tool orchestration, and AI evaluation.
• Strong knowledge of cybersecurity principles, common threats and exploits, secure engineering, identity systems, cloud infrastructure, APIs, CI/CD, and distributed services.
• Ability to work as both a hands-on technical contributor and a people manager in an ambiguous, technically complex environment.

Nice to have

• Experience building cybersecurity, AI security, SOC automation, SIEM/SOAR, cloud security, endpoint security, or identity security products.
• Experience with autonomous AI agents in production and securing LLM applications or agentic workflows.
• Familiarity with LangChain, LlamaIndex, Semantic Kernel, AutoGen, CrewAI, vector databases, knowledge graphs, or equivalent technologies.
• Experience with AWS and Azure security services, infrastructure as code, containerization, secrets management, and enterprise security frameworks.
• Experience with AI red teaming, adversarial testing, safety guardrails, observability, and continuous model improvement.
