What you will do

• Edit and publish daily articles across entertainment, politics, and internet culture, maintaining the brand's voice.
• Manage and curate short-form video content for distribution.
• Review and accept writer pitches, ensuring copy is edited quickly to a high standard.
• Act as the primary point of contact for staff and freelance writers to resolve workflow bottlenecks.
• Ensure all coverage adheres to publishing guidelines for platforms like MSN, Newsbreak, and Yahoo.
• Monitor and escalate standout work or critical editorial issues.

Requirements

• Proven editing experience in a fast-paced news, culture, or entertainment newsroom.
• Proficiency with WordPress and project management tools like Trello or Asana.
• Ability to handle a high daily volume of copy without sacrificing quality.
• Deep passion for and familiarity with TV, movies, and internet culture.
• Strong understanding of The Mary Sue's specific editorial voice.
• Ability to work remotely and maintain high communication levels.
