Communication Officer (Advocacy and Media Relations): Producing communication and advocacy materials for Ukraine, including articles, press releases, human-interest stories, web content, images, and audiovisual products, with an accent on media relations, emergency communication, and country-level advocacy. Focus on coordinating content production, supporting journalists and partners, monitoring communication impact, and communicating the situation of children in humanitarian contexts.
Location: Onsite in Dnipro, Ukraine. National Officer position; visa and work authorization are not facilitated for candidates.

What you will do
- Implement assigned activities within the country and field office communication strategy and work plan.
- Produce and edit advocacy materials, articles, press releases, human-interest stories, web pages, images, videos, and other media content.
- Develop media relations by maintaining journalist databases, supporting briefings and site visits, and facilitating media coverage.
- Coordinate quality control, translations, reviews, layout, and graphic design for communication products.
- Monitor communication reach, media coverage, public perception, and campaign effectiveness, and prepare reports and lessons learned.
- Support partnerships, special events, donor briefings, and engagement with government, UN, media, and community stakeholders.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, or a related field.
- At least two years of professional experience in communications, print or broadcast media, or interactive digital media.
- Fieldwork experience and familiarity with emergency situations are required.
- Experience with communication research and planning, interactive digital media, computer systems, emergency communication, communication strategy, and emergency preparedness.
- Fluency in English is required.
- National Officer candidates must meet the host-country visa and residence requirements; will not facilitate visa or work authorization for this position.
Nice to have
- Knowledge of another official UN language or a local language.
- Experience with a UN system agency or organization.
- Experience in development, fragile settings, or humanitarian contexts at country level.
