TL;DR
Protection Senior Manager (Rule of Law): Managing and strengthening humanitarian protection programming across Ukraine with an accent on technical quality, multi-year portfolio management, partnerships, and evidence-based implementation. Focus on designing complex protection interventions, supporting field teams and local partners, coordinating with donors and stakeholders, and deputizing for the Protection Coordinator.
Location: Primarily office-based in Kyiv, Kharkiv, Dnipro, or Mykolaiv, with preference for Kyiv and travel to other locations for up to 30% of the time. Hybrid work may be available after successful completion of the probation period, subject to business needs and manager approval.

What you will do
- Support the management and strategic development of a complex, multi-donor, multi-year protection portfolio across Ukraine.
- Oversee technical quality across protection case management, legal advice, protection monitoring, psychosocial support, and system-strengthening activities.
- Provide technical guidance, mentoring, capacity building, and operational support to field teams and local partner organizations.
- Contribute to project design, proposal development, budgeting, MEAL planning, donor reporting, and grant compliance.
- Coordinate with authorities, NGOs, international agencies, donors, and protection networks on programming and advocacy.
- Deputize for the Protection Coordinator and support national-level leadership, stakeholder engagement, and program advocacy.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in law, human rights law, international relations, social sciences, or a related field.
- Fluent Ukrainian and English required.
- At least four years of leadership experience managing multi-year programs and grants or implementing humanitarian protection programs.
- Strong knowledge of the humanitarian context in Ukraine and experience with resource planning, budgets, workforce planning, and complex projects.
- Experience with donor compliance, reporting, grant management, coordination forums, and partnerships with national and local organizations.
- Strong analytical, communication, writing, people leadership, change management, and capacity-building skills, including experience with digital program-management and reporting tools.
