TL;DR

Location: Remote. Must be authorized to work in your country of residence. Availability during some US Pacific business hours is preferred.

Compensation: $25 – $35 per hour

What you will do

• Own the French language quality end-to-end, including managing annotation quality and auditing datasets.
• Perform ground truth assessments of TTS output focusing on pronunciation, prosody, and naturalness.
• Develop, update, and expand annotation guidelines and rubrics to address gaps and edge cases.
• Provide actionable feedback, prepare quality assessments, and run calibration meetings for annotators.
• Investigate customer-reported language issues to identify root causes and flag quality issues.
• Create onboarding materials and QA reports regarding annotation calibration outcomes.

Requirements

• Native-level proficiency in French as spoken in France.
• Strong foundation in linguistics, specifically phonetics, prosody, and intonation.
• Experience with data annotation, transcription, or language quality assurance.
• Strong written English proficiency for all guidelines, reports, and team communication.
• Ability to manage feedback cycles and data projects independently without close oversight.
• Comfortable working with inter-rater agreement scores and structured feedback templates.

Nice to have

• Experience with audio evaluation, Text-to-Speech (TTS), or Speech-to-Text (STT).
• Experience training, mentoring, or managing other annotators.
• Conversational spoken English proficiency for meetings and calibration syncs.
• Experience working with distributed, remote teams.
