Infrastructure Engineer (Storage/Backup)

Location: Basingstoke, United Kingdom; permanent shift schedule from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM local time, either Sunday–Thursday or Tuesday–Saturday.

What you will do

• Maintain the security, availability, and ongoing operation of storage and SAN infrastructure.
• Automate infrastructure tasks using SRE principles and infrastructure as code.
• Perform complex provisioning, advanced maintenance, data replication, disaster recovery, and data migration.
• Support, certify, and document Open Systems Storage and Backup environments.
• Provide Level 2 escalation support for SAN, NAS, and backup solutions across all tiers.
• Participate in scheduled on-call support and collaborate with Systems, Database, Engineering, Operations, Audit, Risk, and Technology teams.

Requirements

• 0.5–3.5 years of commercial experience in an infrastructure support role.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field is preferred.
• Experience with UNIX environments including Linux, AIX, or Solaris; VMware or other hypervisors; and Windows.
• Interest in storage technologies, infrastructure support, and scripting or coding for automation.
• Monitoring, tuning, troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong communication, organization, prioritization, quality, and customer-service skills.
