Senior Engineering Manager (Media Infrastructure)

Location: Must be based in the US in a state where Airbnb, Inc. has a registered entity. Remote eligible with occasional office visits.

Salary: $248,000 — $310,000 USD

What you will do

• Set technical strategy and architecture for media infrastructure across multiple teams, aligning with business priorities.
• Lead, coach, and grow other managers and senior technical leads to foster a high-performance environment.
• Partner with Product, Design, and Trust teams to shape the resilient and scalable media platform roadmap.
• Champion engineering excellence and operational rigor while resolving systemic technical debt.
• Identify, hire, and retain a diverse team of high-performing engineers and managers.

Requirements

• 12+ years of industry experience with at least 6+ years in engineering management (including managing other managers).
• Deep expertise in large-scale distributed systems and setting technical strategy.
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience.
• Proven track record of shipping large, cross-team initiatives with significant business impact.
• Must be based in the United States.

Nice to have

• Experience with media/content infrastructure including ingestion, processing, storage, and CDN delivery.
