TL;DR
Principal Field Application Engineer (Automotive MCU): Providing customer-facing technical support for Automotive MCU applications across BMS, body and zone controllers, and infotainment systems with an accent on system integration, embedded software debugging, and customer project execution. Focus on resolving hardware, software, security, and system-level issues, supporting AUTOSAR and RTOS integration, and enabling NPI projects for automotive customers.
Location: Shanghai (JingAn), China; the role includes on-site customer support and domestic and international travel.

What you will do
- Provide technical support for Automotive MCU-based customer projects during development, validation, and early production.
- Support BMS, body and zone controllers, radio, audio, and selected infotainment applications.
- Assist with MCU bring-up, peripheral configuration, system integration, and embedded software debugging.
- Analyze hardware, software, system, and security-related issues and coordinate escalations with AE, R&D, and product teams.
- Support customer design reviews, technical workshops, reference designs, demos, and NPI activities.
- Maintain issue follow-up, project documentation, customer communication, and feedback transfer to internal teams.
Requirements
- 5–8 years of experience in automotive electronics, embedded systems, FAE, application engineering, or customer-facing technical support.
- Solid experience with Automotive MCU platforms and peripherals such as ADC, timers, PWM, communication interfaces, DMA, and system resources.
- Experience with embedded software stacks, BSPs, peripheral drivers, RTOS integration, and embedded debugging tools including JTAG, trace, logging, and memory analysis.
- Practical understanding of BMS, body or zone controllers, radio, audio, or infotainment systems and ECU hardware/software integration.
- Awareness of automotive cybersecurity, secure boot, secure communication, key and certificate usage, and Functional Safety concepts under ISO 26262.
- English proficiency is required for daily technical communication; willingness to work independently at customer sites and travel domestically and internationally is required.
Nice to have
- Experience supporting automotive OEM or Tier-1 customers.
- Familiarity with AUTOSAR Classic (CP) concepts and integration.
- Exposure to Automotive Ethernet switches or time-sensitive networking.
- Experience with system validation or field issue troubleshooting.
