Salary: $177,600 - $247,000 USD

What you will do

• Lead the strategy, direction, and day-to-day execution of the Policy Research Lab.
• Collaborate with internal researchers and lead research labs across government, industry, and academia.
• Drive initiatives for frameworks and benchmarks related to frontier AI models.
• Coordinate projects and partnerships, including direct collaboration with global AI safety institutes.
• Execute the lab's recruiting plan and overarching research agenda.
• Stay deeply engaged with policy and research communities to set and understand emerging trends.

Requirements

• 6+ years of relevant academic or work experience.
• Proven track record of impactful research and policy contributions in the AI safety space.
• Experience leading and mentoring teams of research scientists and engineers.
• Deep understanding of frontier risk evaluations, AI control, and preparedness research.
• Established professional connections with government partners and AI safety institutes.
• Strong technical and policy background with excellent cross-functional communication skills.

Nice to have

• Publications at major machine learning/AI conferences such as NeurIPS, ICML, ICLR, ACL, EMNLP, or CVPR.
