What you will do

• Administer, monitor, and support production and non-production Microsoft SQL Server instances and cloud database services, including SingleStore.
• Improve availability, reliability, scalability, performance, and security across business-critical SaaS workloads.
• Diagnose complex issues involving queries, blocking, deadlocks, replication, storage, connectivity, and resource contention.
• Design and test backup, restore, high-availability, and disaster-recovery processes.
• Lead installations, upgrades, patching, migrations, refreshes, and database decommissioning.
• Automate administration, monitoring, deployment, and operational documentation in collaboration with engineering, infrastructure, architecture, and security teams.

Requirements

• 8+ years of experience administering business-critical production databases, including significant recent experience in a senior DBA role.
• Advanced hands-on expertise with Microsoft SQL Server, including configuration, upgrades, backups, recovery, security, and performance tuning.
• Experience supporting high-volume OLTP systems, large datasets, and demanding 24×7 SaaS environments.
• Strong knowledge of SQL Server high-availability and disaster-recovery technologies, including Always On Availability Groups, clustering, replication, log shipping, and tested restores.
• Expert T-SQL skills and deep knowledge of execution plans, indexing, statistics, locking, isolation levels, and query optimization.
• Experience with database observability, scripting, source control, CI/CD pipelines, cloud databases in Azure or AWS, data modeling, and secure database operations.

Nice to have

• Experience with SingleStore or another distributed SQL platform.
• Relevant Microsoft, cloud, or database certifications.
• Experience managing database migrations or modernization projects with minimal service disruption.
