What you will do

• Understand, document, and communicate the existing Agave validator implementation in Rust.
• Translate and improve validator functionality in Zig while maintaining readable, high-quality code.
• Research performance bottlenecks and optimize systems using profiling tools and SIMD operations.
• Own validator components through implementation, benchmarking, testing, and delivery.
• Collaborate with engineers to simplify complex technical concepts and design new features.
• Contribute to the open-source Sig codebase and mentor new engineers as responsibilities grow.

Requirements

• 3+ years of related professional engineering experience using Rust.
• Strong ability to understand and communicate complex systems code.
• Experience writing production-quality code and optimizing performance.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced engineering environment.

Nice to have

• Experience with Zig, C, or C++.
• Background in blockchain decentralization or Solana validator infrastructure.
