Backend Engineer

TL;DR

Backend Engineer (Node.js/TypeScript): Build and scale the backend foundation of a global digital identity platform with an accent on authentication, identity integrations, and high-availability APIs. What you will do

• Design and develop core backend systems and high-availability infrastructure for the hConnect authentication platform.
• Integrate national electronic ID systems and external identity services across different markets.
• Build scalable architectures that support traffic growth, product expansion, and reliable operations.
• Design and maintain RESTful, WebSocket, and GraphQL APIs for internal services and external partners.
• Collaborate through code reviews, maintain clean code, and improve engineering practices.

Requirements

• At least 2 years of backend development experience with Node.js and TypeScript.
• Strong computer science fundamentals and hands-on mastery of at least one relevant technology.
• Practical experience with OpenID Connect, OAuth 2.0, JWT, and access token flows.
• Experience building early-stage products, handling high-volume traffic, and addressing browser and mobile compatibility challenges.
• Experience with test automation, Docker, RabbitMQ or Kafka, and AWS or GCP cloud environments.
• Experience developing API gateways, PaaS, or SaaS products.

Nice to have

• Experience with Nest.js, MySQL, MongoDB, AWS CodePipeline, GitHub Actions, and AWS CloudWatch.
• Experience integrating identity systems or working with digital identity technologies.
