Salary: $225,000 - $320,000

What you will do

• Define and lead the security strategy for the Stellar ecosystem and Foundation-owned systems.
• Raise the security baseline for key participants, including wallets, infrastructure providers, custodians, and validators.
• Publish actionable guidance and reference patterns to drive security adoption across the ecosystem.
• Own security outcomes for Foundation-developed software, infrastructure, and treasury/custody responsibilities.
• Lead secure development efforts, including threat modeling, vulnerability management, and bug bounty programs.
• Build and lead a high-performing security team, translating strategy into measurable outcomes.

Requirements

• 10+ years of experience in security, with 5+ years in senior leadership roles.
• Proven track record of owning security outcomes for complex, high-consequence production systems.
• Deep expertise in product and application security within real-world environments.
• Strong familiarity with blockchain and decentralized system security.
• Experience handling high-severity incidents and disclosure processes.
• Must be based in New York for a hybrid work arrangement.

Nice to have

• Experience with secure development frameworks such as NIST SSDF, OWASP SCSVS, or SEAL.
• Background in financial infrastructure, payments, custody, or tokenized finance.
• Experience with large-scale platform or ecosystem security architecture.
• Expertise in identity, trust, encryption, or internet-scale systems.
