What you will do

• Prototype, implement, and iterate on gameplay systems, investigative mechanics, and scripted sequences.
• Develop gameplay logic and progression systems using Unreal Engine 5 and Blueprints.
• Collaborate with narrative designers, artists, and engineers to bring immersive storytelling elements to life.
• Build scalable gameplay features while ensuring strong performance and stability.
• Work with engineering teams to improve tools and content pipelines for efficient iteration.
• Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve technical scripting and implementation issues.

Requirements

• Minimum 5 years of experience in game development, including 2+ years as a Technical Designer.
• Strong proficiency with Unreal Engine 5, specifically Blueprint scripting and debugging.
• Experience contributing to at least one shipped game title.
• Must be based in Canada.
• Strong understanding of scripting concepts and state-driven systems.

Nice to have

• Experience with branching dialogue, quest systems, or interactive storytelling workflows.
• Knowledge of cinematic pipelines and sequencing tools.
• Passion for narrative entertainment across various formats (film, novels, podcasts).
