Data Engineering Lead (Azure)

What you will do

• Lead and implement client technical roadmaps in alignment with broader technology and architecture plans.
• Design architectures that integrate technical and non-technical components to meet customer needs.
• Develop and operate data solutions using Python, Spark, RESTful APIs, and Microsoft Azure.
• Deliver data platforms, data insights, dashboards, data lakes and hubs, and recommendation systems in collaboration with data scientists.
• Lead project activities, evaluate business needs, and manage stakeholder collaboration.
• Coach product team members and drive technical excellence, standards, and best practices.

Requirements

• 5–8 years of experience in a similar data engineering role.
• Experience developing and deploying ETL solutions on Azure, GCP, or AWS, including production ETL/ELT pipelines at scale.
• Strong knowledge of data warehousing, data transformation, data profiling, advanced SQL, and data governance.
• 3–5 years of hands-on Azure experience with Data Factory, Databricks, Synapse, Azure Functions, App Logic, and streaming analytics services.
• Proficiency in Python with PySpark and scripting languages such as Bash; experience with GitHub or similar tools, CI/CD, automated testing, and cloud-based architecture.
• People management experience with a team of at least two members, plus service consulting and stakeholder management experience.

Nice to have

• Experience with Airflow, Kubernetes, and Great Expectations.
• Basic knowledge of Power BI.
• Master’s degree in a relevant technical discipline.
