What you will do

• Architect and build a scalable test automation framework for AWC’s multi-cluster architecture.
• Own an API-first testing strategy for public REST APIs (UI as a thin client).
• Automate end-to-end user flows for data application migrations using Spark, Airflow, and data warehouse products.
• Define AWC test strategy and verification for both Taikun-installed applications and orchestration across clusters.
• Set testing standards, mentor senior engineers, and influence design decisions to ensure testability from day one.
• Collaborate with Taikun (Kubernetes) and Foundational Services teams to integrate Cert Manager, DBs, and Logging into the test matrix.

Requirements

• 8+ years of professional Software in Test (SDET) or Quality Engineering experience, with a proven track record as a Staff/Lead Engineer (IC4) building large-scale test automation for distributed systems or cloud-native control planes.
• Expert-level coding proficiency in Go (Golang), Python, or Java to build test frameworks, mock services, and custom Kubernetes operators for testing.
• Deep expertise in testing Kubernetes workloads, including CRDs validation, Helm chart deployments, and interaction with container registries (OCI).
• Advanced hands-on understanding of compute/streaming engines and lakehouse architectures (Spark, Flink, Kafka, Apache Iceberg).
• Strong knowledge of zero-trust security perimeters, federated identity (OIDC/SAML), and Kubernetes networking (Gateway API, Istio service mesh).
• Advanced CI/CD knowledge and experience embedding system/upgrade/scale tests into automated deployment pipelines (Harness, FluxCD).
