Sr. Consulting Engineer (Cybersecurity)

Location: Remote (must be based in the Carolinas, USA) with occasional travel required.

What you will do

• Serve as a client-facing consultant providing proactive and reactive support for mission-critical infrastructure.
• Troubleshoot complex technical issues across network and security systems.
• Perform systems administration tasks including security patching, maintenance, and environment optimization.
• Provide subject matter expertise for Microsoft OS, Active Directory, virtualization, and storage solutions.
• Conduct root cause analysis for business-critical issues.
• Create and maintain technical documentation for clients and internal teams.

Requirements

• Must be based in the Carolinas, USA.
• 5+ years of professional experience in designing, implementing, and troubleshooting IT infrastructure.
• Strong expertise in Cisco routing, switching, and firewalls.
• Experience with Fortinet firewalls and SDWAN technologies.
• Strong communication and customer service skills for client-facing interactions.
• Ability to work independently and manage complex technical escalations.

Nice to have

• CCNP or CCIE certifications.
• Fortinet NSE certification.
• Cloud networking certifications (AWS, Azure).
• Knowledge of VMware and Linux systems.
