Salary: €60,000 – €71,280 gross per year

What you will do

• Develop new backend services in a functional style using Scala and the Typelevel ecosystem (Cats, Cats-Effect).
• Build security-sensitive software involving cryptographic operations and reliable processing of sensitive data.
• Design and implement APIs and gRPC integrations.
• Create and optimize data models using PostgreSQL.
• Collaborate with senior engineers to influence product architecture and technical decisions.

Requirements

• At least 2 years of professional backend or software engineering experience.
• Professional experience with Scala or other JVM languages such as Java or Kotlin.
• Strong interest in functional programming and understanding of type safety.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Mathematics, or a comparable field.
• Professional fluency in English.

Nice to have

• Experience with http4s, Tapir, fs2, Doobie, or Akka.
• Experience with gRPC, Protobuf, and PostgreSQL migrations.
• Knowledge of cryptography, PKI, certificates, or hardware security modules (HSM).
• Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD, and property-based testing (e.g., ScalaCheck).
