What you will do

• Architect and maintain scalable, high-performance mobile applications for iOS and Android.
• Lead technical design decisions and drive engineering standards across the mobile stack.
• Integrate mobile applications with telematics backend APIs and device ecosystems.
• Mentor developers and contribute to the team's roadmap and engineering culture.
• Optimize applications for battery life, memory efficiency, and network performance in constrained environments.
• Utilize AI-assisted development tools to accelerate coding, testing, and documentation workflows.

Requirements

• Must be based in Canada (Ontario) with the ability to work in a hybrid model.
• 5-8 years of relevant industry experience in software engineering.
• Deep expertise in native mobile development (Swift/SwiftUI or Kotlin/Jetpack Compose) or cross-platform frameworks (React Native/Flutter).
• Strong understanding of mobile architecture patterns (MVVM, Clean Architecture, MVI).
• Experience with mobile CI/CD pipelines and App Store/Google Play release processes.
• Proficiency in AI-assisted development tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot, Claude Code).

Nice to have

• Background in fleet telematics or connected vehicle platforms.
• Experience with real-time data streams, WebSockets, or MQTT.
• Knowledge of mobile security best practices (encryption, certificate pinning).
• Experience with embedded or IoT device communication (BLE, CAN bus).
