Sr. Machine Learning Engineer (Marketplace ML)

Salary: $213,000—$263,000 USD

What you will do

• Implement and scale the core economic engine for Waymo's ride-hailing commercial services.
• Develop high-level infrastructure for the automatic training and deployment of sophisticated optimization and prediction ML models.
• Build systems to enable real-time decision-making for pricing, matching, and positioning.
• Collaborate within the Platform team to provide specialized business platforms supporting Marketplace ML and Optimization products.

Requirements

• BS degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience.
• 5+ years of experience programming in backend languages such as Java or C++.
• Experience building backend platforms that support multiple product use-cases or services.
• Prior Machine Learning Engineering experience in Python using frameworks such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, or Keras.

Nice to have

• MS in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience.
• Experience building and deploying ML or Optimization models into production environments.
• Experience developing ML data pipelines and workflow automation code on top of mature ML infrastructure.
• Professional experience at a ride-hailing or marketplace company.
• Academic background/coursework in ML and Optimization.
