TL;DR

Product Legal Counsel (AI): Providing legal guidance for generative AI product features, models, and launches with an accent on IP, privacy, and regulatory compliance. Focus on drafting user-facing legal documents, navigating emerging AI laws, and building scalable legal review processes for a high-velocity shipping environment.

Location: On-site in Almaty, Kazakhstan

What you will do

Act as the primary legal partner for product, engineering, and growth teams during feature reviews and launches.
Own and maintain user-facing legal documents, including Terms of Service, Privacy Policy, and creator program terms.
Advise on IP issues core to generative AI, such as training data, model outputs, and copyright risks.
Develop content policies, trust & safety frameworks, and moderation processes (e.g., DMCA).
Ensure global privacy compliance (GDPR, CCPA) by partnering with engineering on privacy-by-design.
Interpret emerging AI regulations like the EU AI Act and translate them into concrete product requirements.

Requirements

Qualified lawyer with 6+ years of experience as product counsel or tech/IP counsel.
Strong expertise in at least two of: IP, privacy/data protection, consumer protection, or platform regulation.
Hands-on experience drafting user-facing terms and policies for consumer or platform products.
Ability to provide fast, risk-weighted, and practical advice in a shipping-focused environment.
Experience handling international and cross-border legal questions for a global user base.
Excellent written and spoken English.

Nice to have

Direct experience with generative AI, ML, or media/entertainment IP.
Familiarity with the EU AI Act, DSA, or other emerging AI regulations.
Experience with trust & safety, content moderation, or rights-of-publicity.
Experience supporting enterprise SaaS or API commercial agreements.
Russian language proficiency.
