Cybersecurity Systems Engineer (ISSM)

Cybersecurity Systems Engineer (ISSM): Leading the organization's information security, risk, and compliance program with an accent on NIST and CMMC frameworks. Location: On-site in Chantilly, VA. Must be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government security clearance (Active Secret required).

What you will do

• Develop and implement the corporate Information Security Program for classified and unclassified systems.
• Lead compliance activities for NIST SP 800-171, NIST SP 800-53, CMMC, and RMF frameworks.
• Design and oversee the secure lifecycle management of corporate, cloud, and air-gapped systems.
• Manage security assessments, audits, vulnerability management, and incident response.
• Coordinate with IT, FSO, and executive leadership to ensure secure configuration and patching.
• Develop security policies, SSPs, and POA&Ms while providing executive-level reporting.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, or related field.
• 7+ years of progressive cybersecurity or information assurance experience.
• Active U.S. Government Secret security clearance required.
• Proven experience as an ISSM, ISSO, or IA Manager.
• Strong knowledge of NIST, RMF, DFARS, and CMMC requirements.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills for technical and non-technical audiences.

Nice to have

• CISSP, CISM, or CGRC certifications.
• Experience with Microsoft 365 Government, Defender, and Entra ID.
• Background in Defense Industrial Base (DIB) contracting.
• Experience with ISO 27001 or ISO 20000 compliance.
