Product Designer (CMS)

Location: Remote in the United States or from Figma hubs in San Francisco, CA, or New York, NY. In-person onboarding is required if hired.

Annual base salary: $169,000–$303,000 USD.

What you will do

• Design and ship end-to-end content management experiences across Figma products.
• Partner with engineering on CMS platform capabilities, technical infrastructure, and open-source initiatives.
• Translate complex technical systems into intuitive and elegant user experiences.
• Build prototypes to explore ideas, validate concepts, and communicate interaction and technical decisions.
• Contribute to product strategy and long-term vision using customer insights, research, product data, and technical understanding.
• Collaborate with product managers, engineers, researchers, and designers while contributing feedback, critiques, and mentorship.

Requirements

• 4+ years of UX and UI design experience for software products of similar scale and complexity.
• Strong visual and interaction design skills, with systems thinking and the ability to simplify technically complex products.
• Ability to build working prototypes and use code as part of the design process.
• Ability to form a point of view, test concepts, and adjust direction in ambiguous environments.
• Experience driving design independently from discovery through launch while balancing user needs, technical constraints, and business goals.
• Strong collaboration skills across design, engineering, product management, and research.

Nice to have

• Experience building and shipping software through coding, AI-assisted development, or other technical approaches.
• Experience designing content management systems, asset management platforms, or foundational platform products.
• Familiarity with developer tools, APIs, SDKs, or other highly technical product experiences.
• Contributions to or experience designing for open-source software.
