TL;DR
Senior Pricing Actuary (Insurance): Developing and optimizing pricing and tariff models for retail insurance products with an accent on GLM, frequency-severity modelling, and portfolio profitability. Focus on conducting rate adequacy analysis, identifying profitability drivers, and translating complex analytical findings into commercial recommendations.

Location: Full-time remote, GMT +3 timezone. Potential opportunity for relocation to Doha, Qatar.

Leading insurance provider in the GCC region building a digital ecosystem for insurance and non-insurance services.

What you will do

  • Develop and maintain pricing and tariff models for Motor, Travel, and Home insurance using GLM and frequency-severity approaches.
  • Monitor portfolio performance and identify key drivers behind profitability deviations.
  • Provide data-driven recommendations for tariff adjustments to optimize sales and loss ratios.
  • Perform competitor pricing and customer sensitivity analysis to ensure market competitiveness.
  • Collaborate with Actuarial, Underwriting, Product, and Data teams on pricing initiatives.
  • Create pricing dashboards and management reports for stakeholders.

Requirements

  • 3–5 years of experience in insurance pricing or actuarial analysis (Motor/P&C preferred).
  • Degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or Economics.
  • Deep knowledge of pricing principles: GLM, frequency-severity, loss ratio, and combined ratio analysis.
  • Proficiency in SQL and Excel for data extraction and scenario modelling.
  • English level B2 or higher.
  • Ability to work within GMT +3 timezone.

Nice to have

  • Progress toward IFoA or SOA actuarial qualifications.
  • Experience with R, Python, Emblem, or Radar.
  • Skill in data-visualization tools like Tableau or Looker Studio.
