Focus on optimizing detection and SOAR capabilities, mentoring analysts, and shaping SOC workflows, governance, and service maturity.
Location: Amsterdam, Netherlands; Work arrangement: on-site; valid working visa for the Netherlands required.

What you will do
- Lead complex security investigations, root cause analyses, and incident response engagements for enterprise customers.
- Perform advanced threat hunting and analyze attacker behavior using Microsoft Sentinel, Defender XDR, and the MITRE ATT&CK framework.
- Develop and optimize detection rules, alert tuning, automation, and SOAR capabilities.
- Support threat intelligence initiatives and improve monitoring and detection effectiveness.
- Act as the senior escalation point for L1 analysts, providing technical guidance and mentoring.
- Deliver incident briefings in Dutch, contribute to Monthly Service Reviews, and help scale the Dutch-speaking SOC through improved workflows and governance.
Requirements
- Senior experience in a SOC, MDR, or cybersecurity operations role, including high-severity incident investigations.
- Experience managing customer-facing security incidents and communicating with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Strong expertise in Microsoft Sentinel, Microsoft Defender XDR, and Kusto Query Language.
- Hands-on experience with incident response, forensic investigations, threat hunting, and threat intelligence.
- Knowledge of security automation, SOAR, cloud security, and identity protection practices.
- Fluent or professional Dutch and English, written and verbal; valid working visa for the Netherlands required.
Nice to have
- Microsoft SC-200, SC-300, AZ-500, CompTIA CySA+, ITIL Foundation, or CISSP certification.
