Technical Director (Game Project, AI)

Location: Remote from anywhere in the world or from one of hirify.global's offices

What you will do

• Build and lead a strong team of engineers and managers through hiring, coaching, and mentoring.
• Define and execute the technical roadmap for a flagship mobile game, making AI-driven innovation part of the product strategy.
• Identify and deliver AI initiatives that automate production pipelines, improve development workflows, and increase team productivity and product quality.
• Take AI solutions from experimentation to production, measure their impact, and scale successful approaches across products and company-wide teams.
• Improve engineering efficiency, code quality, reliability, and technical practices.
• Partner with Game Producers and company-wide divisions to deliver product quality and roadmap goals.

Requirements

• 10+ years of engineering experience, including 5+ years in senior management roles.
• 3+ years of experience as a Technical Director, CTO, or Director of Engineering.
• Experience managing managers and leading a team of 35+ engineers.
• Experience creating a technical strategy for a large software product.
• Proven experience taking AI-powered initiatives from idea to production and integrating AI into development workflows and production pipelines.
• Strong understanding of modern AI technologies, including LLMs and AI agents, plus hands-on software engineering experience with modern C++ and preferably mobile technologies such as iOS, Android, C#, Java, or Scala.

Nice to have

• Experience with complex in-house game engines or Unity/Unreal.
