Senior Backend Developer (Java/Kotlin)

Location: Must be based in Copenhagen or Oslo

What you will do

• Develop, test, and maintain backend services using Java/Kotlin and Spring Boot.
• Design and implement scalable, event-driven architectures and RESTful APIs aligned with OpenAPI standards.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver new features and system enhancements.
• Troubleshoot application issues to ensure optimal performance and responsiveness.
• Write clean, maintainable code and participate in team code reviews.
• Support unit testing, continuous integration pipelines, and observability setups.

Requirements

• At least five years of relevant experience in backend development.
• Strong proficiency in Java or Kotlin and Spring Boot.
• Solid understanding of software engineering principles (Clean Code, SOLID, Domain-Driven Design).
• Proficiency in GIT and test-driven development (TDD).
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• Excellent communication skills in English are required.

Nice to have

• Experience with Kafka and event-driven systems.
• Experience with Quarkus or similar frameworks.
• Knowledge of observability practices and OpenTelemetry.
