TL;DR
Senior Scientist (Flexible Packaging): Leading the scale-up of new and existing adhesive products and translating formulations into manufacturing instructions with an accent on process validation and quality control. Focus on investigating deviations, implementing CAPAs, and driving continuous improvement using statistical tools in a chemical manufacturing environment.
Location: Must be based in Monterrey, Mexico (On-site)

What you will do
- Lead product scale-up and define clear manufacturing instructions.
- Validate process parameters, equipment settings, and quality methods.
- Investigate production deviations and implement root-cause analysis and CAPAs.
- Provide technical support to production and participate in MOC activities.
- Manage raw material qualifications, evaluations, and substitutions.
- Collaborate across R&D, Supply Chain, and Technical Service departments.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, or Polymer Science with 6 years of experience (or Master’s with 4 years, or PhD with 2 years).
- Experience in chemical manufacturing and product scale-up.
- Background in adhesives, polymers, coatings, or chemical processes.
- Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish.
- Ability to travel up to 10%.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs for sample handling.
Nice to have
- Experience with SAP or similar ERP systems.
- Knowledge of Lean/Six Sigma methodologies (DMAIC, 8D, FMEA, 5S).
- Experience with 1K/2K polyurethane technologies.
- Familiarity with analytical techniques like FTIR, DSC, and viscosity testing.
