Sales Engineer (AI)

Location: On-site in San Francisco, CA. Note: Role requires 40% travel to customer sites.

Salary: $165,000+ (OTE)

What you will do

• Co-architect and build production AI agents alongside customer engineering teams.
• Drive the technical win in pre-sales through POC design and technical evaluations.
• Guide customers in deploying and operating conversational agents and multi-step workflows.
• Provide post-sale advisory on architecture, best practices, and product roadmap.
• Conduct technical demos, trainings, and workshops for developer audiences.
• Contribute field feedback and reusable code patterns back to the platform.

Requirements

• 3+ years in a technical role (software/customer/solutions engineering), preferably in a startup or scale-up.
• Strong proficiency in Python, JavaScript, and systems fundamentals.
• Experience designing agent-based or LLM-powered applications beyond simple API calls.
• Comfortable working directly with customers during POCs and architecture reviews.
• Ability to explain technical tradeoffs clearly to developer audiences.
• Must be based in San Francisco, CA (On-site).

Nice to have

• Experience using LangChain or LangGraph frameworks.
• Knowledge of LLM evaluation, observability, and guardrails.
• Experience with cloud environments (AWS, GCP, Azure), containers, and Kubernetes.
• Proven track record of shipping and operating production software.
