What you will do

• Manage and mentor a team of four experienced Haskell and Rust engineers.
• Architect and develop foundational services to support product engineering teams.
• Collaborate on long-term infrastructure roadmaps and team processes.
• Balance leadership responsibilities with hands-on coding, code reviews, and debugging.
• Foster a collaborative team culture and facilitate professional growth through performance reviews.
• Work closely with DevOps and product teams to define requirements and improve system reliability.

Requirements

• EU citizenship or valid work permit for the Netherlands required.
• Must be able to work from the Utrecht office at least 2 days per week.
• Substantial backend development experience with proficiency in Haskell.
• Experience or comfort with Rust and Python.
• Familiarity with relational databases (PostgreSQL), Linux, and Git.
• Strong communication skills and experience in leading or mentoring engineering teams.

Nice to have

• Experience with web technologies and API design.
• Previous experience in a leadership role.
• Familiarity with the OKR framework.
