What you will do

• Own technical delivery, sprint commitments, and blocker resolution in partnership with the Scrum Master.
• Collaborate with the Product Owner to translate roadmaps into realistic technical plans.
• Design and maintain backend services using PHP and Symfony while remaining hands-on with code.
• Drive modernization onto AWS using containerized and serverless workloads.
• Manage the data layer in RDS MySQL, including schema design and query optimization.
• Champion AI Spec-Driven Development by orchestrating AI coding agents and validating generated code.

Requirements

• Proven experience leading a team, mentoring engineers, and making technical decisions.
• Hands-on experience building production applications with PHP, MySQL, Symfony, and Doctrine.
• Real-world experience running and debugging applications on AWS using CloudWatch.
• Strong REST API design skills with a focus on security and performance.
• Solid knowledge of MySQL production workloads, including query optimization and EXPLAIN plans.
• Experience with automated testing in PHP using phpspec or Behat.

Nice to have

• Experience with messaging and event-driven patterns like RabbitMQ or AWS SQS/SNS.
• Knowledge of serverless services such as Lambda, DynamoDB, or Aurora Serverless.
• Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code (AWS CDK or CloudFormation).
• Understanding of GDPR and secure handling of sensitive data.
