What you will do

• Develop the payments and billing codebase and define its technical direction.
• Manage end-to-end gateway integrations, including scoping, building, and analyzing results.
• Optimize existing payment systems for high reliability, security, and performance.
• Lead the team through 1:1s, Professional Development Plans (PDPs), and active mentorship.
• Troubleshoot production issues as part of an on-duty rotation.
• Collaborate with Product and Growth teams to implement payment initiatives.

Requirements

• 6+ years of backend development experience.
• 1–2+ years of experience leading or mentoring a small team (Tech Lead/Team Lead).
• Strong PHP skills with modern frameworks such as Yii2 and/or Laravel.
• Experience with relational databases (MySQL and/or PostgreSQL), Git, and Docker.
• Proven track record of software architecture design on high-load projects.
• Professional-level English for daily written and spoken collaboration.

Nice to have

• Experience in the Payments or Fintech domain.
• Knowledge of Kubernetes, GitOps (ArgoCD), and CI/CD (GitHub Actions).
• Expertise in Go.
