Senior Forward Deployed Engineer (FDE) (Retail)

Location: Remote - California; travel to customers 20% of the time

What you will do

• Build and productionize customer solutions spanning data engineering, AI, and application development.
• Lead architecture and design decisions for secure, scalable, production-grade systems.
• Design and implement reference architectures, custom applications, data ingestion, and ML/AI model integrations.
• Guide enterprise customers through implementation, evaluation, adoption, and technical transformation.
• Collaborate with project managers, architects, engineering, support, and customer teams to deliver technical engagements.
• Create reusable accelerators, frameworks, and best practices that scale across accounts and inform the product roadmap.

Requirements

• 6+ years of experience in data engineering, data platforms and analytics, or software engineering.
• Production coding experience with Python, Scala, JavaScript or TypeScript and modern frameworks.
• Experience with at least two cloud ecosystems among AWS, Azure, and GCP, with expertise in at least one.
• Deep experience with distributed computing using Apache Spark, including Spark runtime internals.
• Experience with CI/CD, MLOps, ML/AI models and APIs, and end-to-end data architectures.
• Experience delivering technical projects for enterprise clients, managing scope and stakeholders, and translating complex concepts into actionable solutions; Databricks Certification required.

• Experience creating technical documentation and leading whiteboarding sessions.
