Machine Learning Engineer (Autonomous Driving)

Location: Foster City, CA (Hybrid)

Salary: $189,000–$270,000 per year

What you will do

• Develop deep learning models using imitation and reinforcement learning to generate human-like driving plans.
• Create techniques to evaluate driving plan quality across safety, progress, comfort, and realism.
• Contribute to large-scale machine learning infrastructure and model training pipelines.
• Develop metrics and diagnostic tools to analyze system errors and performance improvements.
• Collaborate with perception, planning, simulation, and validation teams to solve autonomous driving challenges.

Requirements

• PhD in Computer Science or related field, or Master's degree with 5+ years of professional experience.
• Experience in planning or prediction using reinforcement learning techniques.
• Proficiency in training and deploying transformer-based model architectures.
• Experience with production machine learning pipelines, including dataset creation and training frameworks.
• Fluency in Python and basic understanding of C++.
