What you will do

• Lead controls-related activities for BESS projects, ensuring alignment with technical and operational standards.
• Serve as the primary subject matter expert for customers and internal stakeholders regarding control systems.
• Execute software and firmware upgrades, ensuring structured deployment, testing, and rollback processes.
• Perform root cause analysis (RCA) of system events and failures to improve reliability and availability.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve complex controls and system performance issues.
• Enforce change management processes and maintain accurate documentation for all system modifications.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Automation, or a related field.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in controls engineering, software engineering, or automation within the power or energy industry.
• Strong understanding of electricity transmission, distribution networks, and grid code compliance.
• Proficiency in industrial communication protocols (IEC 61850, DNP3, Modbus) and PLC/RTU systems.
• Fluent in English.
• Experience with Linux, Python, Shell scripting, and C/C++.

Nice to have

• German or other European language skills.
• Experience with MathWorks Simulink and model-based systems engineering.
• Familiarity with high-voltage electrical equipment like inverters and transformers.
