What you will do

• Guide teams through platform transformation and modernization efforts.
• Partner with product and domain stakeholders to shape roadmaps and business outcomes.
• Develop technical leads and senior engineers through coaching and actionable feedback.
• Maintain technical depth to lead design reviews and challenge assumptions effectively.
• Establish clear delivery rhythms, goals, and milestones for the engineering teams.
• Build end-to-end operational ownership, including incident response and system reliability.

Requirements

• Must be based in or able to work from Athens, Greece.
• Proven experience leading software engineering teams as a manager or senior technical lead.
• Strong technical foundation in backend, data, or distributed systems.
• Experience with production system operations, including on-call and incident management.
• Ability to translate business priorities into technical outcomes with stakeholders.
• Track record of hiring, developing, and retaining high-performing engineering talent.

Nice to have

• Experience with system migrations and re-architecture of production platforms.
• Background in data-intensive, event-driven, or ML-adjacent systems (e.g., Kafka).
• Proficiency in Python and JVM-based languages like Java or Scala.
• Domain knowledge in commodities, energy, or financial markets.
