What you will do

• Own the strategy, operating model, and execution of Detection & Response Engineering within Gong’s Cyber Defense group.
• Lead detection engineering across SIEM, EDR/XDR, identity, cloud, and SaaS telemetry.
• Drive incident response across corporate, cloud, production, and SaaS environments.
• Build SOAR and response automation workflows (enrichment, triage, containment, investigation) and reduce analyst toil.
• Run threat hunting and threat intelligence programs aligned with Gong’s threat model.
• Scale global security operations using a follow-the-sun model, including on-call posture, readiness, and detection/telemetry health metrics.

Requirements

• Experience leading modern SOC, detection engineering, incident response, or cyber defense functions at scale.
• Strong hands-on expertise with SIEM, SOAR, EDR/XDR, cloud and SaaS telemetry, and DFIR.
• Proven ability to build high-fidelity detection and response programs with advanced automation and measurable results.
• Comfort leading through high-severity incidents and aligning technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Experience building and scaling security operations operating models (including follow-the-sun/on-call readiness).
