TL;DR
Senior Data Engineer (AWS): Designing and building robust data ingestion pipelines and end-to-end data solutions on AWS with an accent on cloud-native architecture, ETL/ELT processes, and high-velocity streaming. Focus on migrating legacy systems to AWS, optimizing data performance, and implementing CI/CD strategies for enterprise data platforms.
Location: Must be based in Newark, NJ
Salary: $85,000 - $95,000

What you will do
- Design and maintain efficient, reusable, and reliable data architecture and code.
- Build robust data ingestion pipelines from on-premise and API sources to AWS.
- Collaborate with product, QA, and cross-functional teams throughout the software development cycle.
- Perform hands-on development and unit testing of data applications.
- Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks in high-scale data projects.
- Participate in architecture discussions and code reviews to ensure best practices.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent.
- Must be based in or able to work from Newark, NJ.
- Solid experience implementing data lakes and warehouses on AWS.
- Proficiency in Python, Shell scripting, and SQL.
- Deep knowledge of AWS services including S3, Athena, Glue, EMR/Spark, Redshift, and Lambda.
- Experience with ETL/ELT processes and streaming solutions like Kinesis or Kafka.
Nice to have
- AWS Solutions Architect or Developer Certification.
- Experience with Lakehouse or data cloud architecture.
- Knowledge of Elasticsearch.
