Software Engineer, ML Platform (AI)

Location: Hybrid (Foster City, CA)

Salary: $182,000 – $257,000

Zoox is developing the first ground-up, fully autonomous vehicle fleet and the supporting ecosystem for urban mobility-as-a-service.

What you will do

• Build and scale the Zoox Training framework leveraged by all internal ML teams to ensure high reliability and efficiency.
• Design, implement, and operate a robust ML platform for the training, validation, serving, and monitoring of ML models.
• Collaborate with ML researchers, software engineers, and data engineers to define requirements and align on architectural decisions.
• Manage the model repository and lifecycle tools used for in-vehicle and off-vehicle ML use cases.

Requirements

• 2+ years of experience in ML infrastructure.
• Experience with training frameworks such as PyTorch, DeepSpeed, JAX, or Ray.
• Experience working with AWS cloud providers.
• Must be based in or able to work from the Foster City, CA office (Hybrid).

Nice to have

• Experience building large-scale, cost-efficient distributed model training and ML compute infrastructure.
• Experience creating model lifecycle management and experimentation tools.
