Analytics Engineer (Medtech)

Salary: $165,000 – $215,000 base salary + equity.

What you will do

• Build canonical data models to create a shared source of truth across the organization.
• Define and maintain core business, operational, and customer-facing metrics.
• Model data using dbt to ensure reliable reporting and self-serve analytics.
• Implement rigorous testing, documentation, and data quality checks.
• Reconcile metric definitions across internal teams and external payer requirements.
• Partner with data platform, product, and finance teams to evolve data architecture and contracts.

Requirements

• Must be based in the San Francisco Bay Area for hybrid office attendance.
• Proven experience in analytics engineering, BI, or data modeling in production cloud environments.
• Expert-level SQL skills and experience designing reporting-ready data models.
• Proficiency with dbt or similar transformation frameworks.
• Experience building tested, documented, and reusable data assets.
• Strong communication skills for partnering with technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Nice to have

• Experience with healthcare data (claims, EHR, payer/provider data).
• Knowledge of HIPAA, PHI-aware data access, and regulated data environments.
• Experience with Python for scripting or data validation.
• Background in building customer-facing reporting or multi-tenant data models.
