Regulatory Compliance Officer

Location: Must be based in Belgium (Hybrid role in Brussels).

What you will do

• Act as a gatekeeper for the compliance function and maintain the Payment Institution license.
• Draft and execute the compliance monitoring plan and perform second-line assessments.
• Monitor and report compliance activities to the National Bank of Belgium and internal governance bodies.
• Assess the business impact of new EU and Belgian legislations and ensure proper implementation.
• Provide regulatory advice and support for the structuring of new business offerings.
• Execute passporting notifications and perform reporting in host member states.

Requirements

• Must be based in Belgium.
• Master in Law or Business or equivalent experience in the payment industry.
• Several years of relevant experience in a similar compliance role.
• Fluent in English and Dutch and/or French.
• Ability to conduct second-line assessments and report compliance risks effectively.
• Strong analytical skills with an eye for detail.

Nice to have

• Certified Compliance Officer status.
• Knowledge of PSD2 / PSD3, DORA, EBA guidelines, and NBB Circulars.
• Experience in the card payment industry.
