Security Engineer (AI)

Location: On-site in the Seattle/Bellevue Area, WA, or San Francisco Bay Area, CA

Salary: $160,000–$230,000 per year

What you will do

• Own security across application code, AWS/GCP infrastructure, Kubernetes, identity and authorization, networking, and factory-floor operational technology.
• Build AI-driven security checks, automation loops, paved-road patterns, and self-enforcing guardrails.
• Analyze unfamiliar software and manufacturing systems, identify risks, and design practical security controls.
• Implement engineering foundations for CMMC 2.0, NIST 800-171, and ITAR compliance.
• Investigate and contain security incidents, drive them to resolution, and implement systemic fixes.

Requirements

• 4+ years of experience in security engineering, software engineering, or infrastructure/platform engineering with hands-on security ownership.
• Ability to write code in Go, Python, or a similar language and build SDKs, CLIs, CI/CD checks, and security tooling.
• Experience with application security, cloud and Kubernetes security, identity and authorization, and networking.
• Familiarity with agentic systems, LLM agents, task delegation, and automation.
• Must work on-site in the Seattle/Bellevue or San Francisco Bay Area and meet applicable U.S. ITAR authorization requirements.

Nice to have

• GCC High administration or migration experience.
• Security experience in manufacturing or operational technology environments.
• Familiarity with ITAR/EAR and CUI marking and handling requirements.
• Ability to mentor engineers and set technical direction.
