Facade Engineer/Architect (Fire Safety)

Location: Antwerp, Belgium; Gent, East Flanders, Belgium; Leuven, Flemish Brabant, Belgium. Travel to the UK for site visits must be possible without restriction.

What you will do

• Review architectural drawings, specifications, and technical information for façade and external wall systems.
• Support risk-based assessments of external wall fire performance and prepare technical reports, engineering notes, and appendices.
• Assist with UK PAS 9980-led external wall fire assessments and desktop studies.
• Contribute to thermal engineering tasks, including thermal bridging reviews, U-value assessments, condensation risk inputs, and interpretation of modelling outputs under supervision.
• Review test evidence, certifications, and product data; coordinate with internal disciplines, external stakeholders, and clients.
• Attend site, design, and client meetings; maintain project records and follow quality, safety, and governance procedures.

Requirements

• Achieved or expected Master’s degree in Façade Engineering, Civil or Structural Engineering, Architecture, Building Engineering, Materials Science, or a related discipline.
• Basic understanding of building design and construction principles.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills in English and Dutch.
• Willingness to learn and develop technical capability in a consultancy environment.
• Ability to travel to the UK for site visits without restriction.

• Previous site experience.
• Interest in façade engineering, external wall systems, fire safety, and sustainable building design.
• Ability to read and interpret architectural drawings and specifications.
• Interest in thermal and/or structural aspects of façade performance.
• Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
