What you will do
- Support the Farm Manager in operating two Pahiatua dairy platforms, an 18ha support block, and a silage production programme.
- Manage daily farm operations and take charge when the Farm Manager is off farm.
- Support and motivate team members while managing livestock, pasture, people, maintenance, and farm presentation.
- Safely operate farm machinery and coordinate local contractors and rural service professionals.
- Manage wastewater and high-strength nutrients in support of the Pahiatua manufacturing site.
- Contribute to capital replacement plans, budgets, asset management, environmental performance, and sustainable farming practices.
Requirements
- At least two years of hands-on farming experience.
- Confidence performing a wide range of agricultural activities safely and efficiently.
- Strong stock, pasture, and people management skills.
- Excellent attention to detail, pride in workmanship, and commitment to farm presentation.
- Strong commitment to health and safety and a proactive, determined approach.
- The role requires on-site work in Pahiatua, New Zealand, with an average 50-hour work week on an eight-on, two-off, eight-on, three-off roster, including calving.
