TL;DR
Senior Director/Director, Health Economics and Market Access (MedTech): Building and evolving IntelliSep’s ROI model, economic narrative, revenue-cycle playbooks, and payer strategy to support adoption of an early sepsis-detection diagnostic, with an accent on hospital reimbursement, coding, clinical evidence, and executive value communication. Focus on translating clinical outcomes into financial models, identifying missed revenue and denial opportunities with hospital teams, defending economic value before C-suite leaders, and expanding payer coverage.

develops IntelliSep, an early sepsis-detection technology that provides actionable patient-risk insights through an eight-minute blood test.
What you will do
- Build, maintain, and refine IntelliSep’s economic model, ROI narrative, calculators, one-pagers, and executive presentations.
- Translate clinical outcomes, resource utilization, and customer data into financial value for hospital CFOs, CMOs, CQOs, and finance leaders.
- Work with hospital coding, billing, and revenue-cycle teams to identify documentation gaps, missed code capture, DRG downgrades, payer denials, and other value-capture opportunities.
- Develop repeatable revenue-cycle audit approaches and playbooks that hospital partners can use with their own data.
- Own coding strategy for IntelliSep, including CPT/HCPCS and PLA code positioning, and develop payer engagement strategies for national, regional, and Medicare Advantage plans.
- Partner with sales, marketing, medical affairs, clinical evidence, legal, and compliance teams; train the field organization and build a small team as the function scales.
Requirements
- 8+ years of experience in healthcare economics, market access, revenue cycle, hospital finance, or a related field.
- Meaningful experience with hospital coding, billing, reimbursement operations, DRGs, CC/MCC logic, denials, appeals, and documentation-driven payment.
- Ability to build and defend financial or economic models for senior hospital executives and board-level audiences.
- Strong executive communication skills and the ability to work hands-on with coding and billing teams while operating strategically with leadership.
- Experience with diagnostics or medical-device reimbursement, including PLA codes, gapfill pricing, and MAC or payer coverage processes.
Nice to have
- Experience in hospital revenue-cycle management, health-system finance, HEMA, clinical or DRG coding, CDI, HIM, denials management, or consulting.
- Familiarity with sepsis care, emergency-medicine economics, or acute-care quality measures such as SEP-1.
- Experience building customer-facing tools or playbooks that support independent analysis.
