What you will do

• Act as a senior consultant providing technical direction and guidance to development teams.
• Design, configure, and implement secure software solutions for state tax and revenue applications.
• Lead minor software projects and troubleshoot complex system anomalies.
• Monitor and maintain server infrastructure to ensure stability, integrity, and security.
• Participate in a 24/7 on-call rotation for system monitoring and recovery support.
• Communicate technical strategies to stakeholders ranging from peer-level to Director-level.

Requirements

• 20+ years of professional experience with VB.NET and SQL database design.
• 20+ years of experience working directly with state government tax systems.
• Must be a current South Carolina resident.
• Must pass comprehensive background, credit, and South Carolina tax history checks.
• Bachelor's degree in IT, Computer Science, or a related field.

Nice to have

• Hands-on experience with GenTax software platforms.
• Prior consulting experience in highly secured public sector environments.
