Location: Remote (US only). This role is not open to visa sponsorship or transfer of visa sponsorship, nor is it available to work corp-to-corp.

Compensation: $190,000 - $240,000 per year

What you will do

• Lead a team of data engineers and engineering managers building large-scale, real-time data pipelines in Spark.
• Set the multi-year technical direction for Data Engineering and communicate strategy to executive leadership.
• Partner with data scientists and business stakeholders to translate requirements into scalable data products.
• Establish architectural standards for data movement, from streaming ingestion through ETL to analytics.
• Manage and develop engineering managers, setting the bar for hiring, coaching, and career growth.
• Champion a governance-first mindset to ensure data privacy and quality across the full lifecycle.

Requirements

• Must be based in the US.
• 8-10 years of data or software engineering experience, including 5+ years managing teams and 1+ year managing managers.
• Deep hands-on experience building large-scale Spark applications for batch and streaming workloads.
• Strong programming background in Python and/or Scala with SQL fluency.
• Hands-on experience with AWS data services (Kinesis, S3, Lambda, DynamoDB) and Databricks.
• Track record of leading engineering teams in an agile environment and communicating technical strategy to non-technical executives.
