Chief WASH (Humanitarian): Managing and supervising all stages of the WASH programme from strategic planning to delivery of results with an accent on emergency response and humanitarian coordination. Focus on leading the WASH team, ensuring accountability frameworks, and driving innovation in water, sanitation, and hygiene initiatives within complex humanitarian contexts.

Location: Must be based in Kyiv, Ukraine (on-site role, subject to relocation within Ukraine based on security conditions).

What you will do

• Provide managerial and technical leadership for the WASH programme.
• Develop and implement strategic WASH programme plans and formulations.
• Ensure efficiency in programme management, monitoring, and quality control.
• Provide advisory services and technical support to stakeholders.
• Lead advocacy, networking, and partnership building efforts.
• Oversee humanitarian WASH preparedness, response, and recovery operations.

Requirements

• Advanced university degree in public health, social sciences, environmental health, or water resource management.
• Minimum of ten years of professional experience in WASH-related programmes at national and international levels.
• Emergency field experience in humanitarian situations, including deployment missions.
• Fluency in English is required.
• Proven ability to lead teams and deliver results in complex environments.
• Must be able to work on-site in Kyiv and relocate within Ukraine if security conditions require.

Nice to have

• Knowledge of another official UN language (Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian, or Spanish).
• Experience working in multiple geographic regions.
• Relevant experience in development and fragile settings.
